Whilst the nets and ropes being erected, the team sheets being written, the banter flying about the place, there is one match day hero that very rarely gets a mention on the website, that is about to change. Glenda Mee, Girton Uniteds Secretary, Match Day Hostess, Kit Washer, Baby Sitter, Raffle Ticket Tout, Match Fees/debt collector and Consigliere is the unsung hero at home games for the 1st Team and making sure everything is in order off the field for all 3 teams.

Glenda made the transfer from the the next Villages team after spending several years being with them, watching them climb from the Eastern Counties League to the dizzy heights of non-leage and turning the once end room into the only place to get a proper cuppa on match days and making a shed load of cash for them.

Now in her 4th year at the club (during that time making ALOT of money for the Club), the club has never been in such a good position, both on and off the field, and I, not being biased, I would have to say the club wouldn’t be in the position it would be without her. Thanks Mum!!

I just wished to put on record the commendable efforts of the Girton Utd secretary, Mrs. Glenda Mee, particularly in relation to the hospitality she showed both myself and Carl yesterday with refreshments and and a smile from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. It was much appreciated.
